## About the school

The ELC is part of the University of Cape Town, consistently ranked Africa's leading university, which is the strongest institutional credibility signal of any school on this page for a parent who has never heard of a private language academy. The centre is at 44 Orange Street in Gardens, below the city's museum quarter. Pricing is unusually transparent: General, Academic, Business and Exam Preparation courses all cost the same per week, and the rate falls from R5,660 to R4,180 as the booking lengthens. Standard is 20 lessons a week, with 25 and 30 lesson options above it. University-managed accommodation (Yellow House, Adderley Studios) and homestays are both offered.
